Motorcycle Repair: fatboy starting issues, starter switch, 40d

Question
Hi Falcon,
I have a new to me 1999 H-D fatboy. When the weather gets cool, (45d or less) the starter switch acts as if the kill swith or ignition switch are off. Once ambient temps warm a bit, it works just fine. It has never quit while riding, but has failed to restart after a warmup break at 35 or 40d.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Answer
Hi Larry.

I would go through the connections for main power and starter to make sure that all contacts are clean and making GOOD contact.  You may have marginal contact and it is being adversely affected by the colder weather.

Good luck and ride safe.
