Motorcycle Repair: 1976 Honda CB 200 T Carb Adjustments, honda cb 200, carb adjustments

Question
I just cut off the secondary part of the mufflers and then tried to adjust the carb well i kind messed it up ran so good until i messed with the carb so i clean them both and got all new jets so they are free flowing and now where do i start with the idle and air fuel adjustment what is the easy way to get started i seem to just get it to idle about 2000 rpm and it rise fast and comes down slowly. If  i idle it to low it dies after idling for a couple min. and pops and miss fires a little bit then if i mess with air fuel screw it kinda helps but doesn't . So what i am getting at is were do i start with turn in or out?

Answer
Ok, the air/fuel mix screw should first b screwed all the way in.  Then turn it out 1.5 turns.  That is your basic adjustment.  However, u will not get it adjusted with your exhaust like that.  U r gonna have 2 jet it now to even come close.  That was the wrong thing to do.  Good luck.
