Motorcycle Repair: TURN SIGNAL NO BLINKING VIRAGO XV750, virago xv750, rubber grommets

Recently replaced the turn signals on my 1982 Yamaha XV750 with aftermarket lights, the old lights had 2 wires, the new lights have 3, I didn't use the black with white striped one and wired the lights in.  They come on but don't blink.  Do these need to be grounded to the frame or do I use the rubber grommets from the original lights?  Thanks, Scott

one should be grounded to frame ,the other two are hot 1 is for running light the other is for blinkers then yur ground shoulgd go to the frame all bikes are different, if you need more help let me know ok.p.s please leave feedback for me,you can also nominate if you choose to o.k.im here if you need
