Motorcycle Repair: RANDOM MISS FIRE, ok bro, compression issue

Question
The bike is not fuel injected. This is a single misfire. 1 cylinder only and only once. It has no pattern and my happen once in thirty miles or three times. It appears to be a random issue.

-----Question-----
I just purchased a 2003 Suzuki 1500 Intruder with 34000 miles and have riden it less than 100 miles. The bike occasionally missfires when either idling or while under power. I have not checked the plug color yet, but suspect that the the issue lies there. Is there anything else that I should consider. It only happens occasionally but is rather irritating as I am trying to get accustomed to the new bike.It seems rather sluggish in the lower RPM ranges.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Answer
Ok bro, I've 1 more question.  The reason for my inquiries here r because of the bikes milage.  I'm trying to determine if u have a compression issue, or simply a fuel/air (fuel delivery) issue.
When riding, if u "nail" it, or simply throttle up hard, Does the bike spit/sputter or simply fall on it's face as if outta gas?
