Motorcycle Repair: yzf 750, yamaha yzf 750, jumper cables

Question
It only has the fuel pump assembly it is over 400 dollars. Their is no fuel filter listed I'm not going to buy an entire fuel pump.  That will be the stupidest thing ever if you cant just replace a filter.

-----Question-----
The choke cable is fine, The engine runs so strongly and all valves were in spec. so i am not really concerned with there being a compression problem.  However I did not adjust the floats,  I don't know if this will do the trick or not. The fuel filter is inside of the tank it is part of the pump assembly, and I can't seem to be able to find one on any yamaha parts list.  As far as anything else not sure what else it could be. Once the engine has warmed it starts with no trouble,  the only way ive gotten it to run is by hooking up some jumper cables and cranking it over and over.  And a new starter is expensive

Answer
sterling i agree with what yur saying i did some research for you  i dont believe the fuel pump would be an issue because when the bike warms up it runs ok you said.do this turn the gas off take the breather off one of the carbs spray a little carb spray into that carb and turn it over if it cranks then yur float height is not in sync, and yur not getting enough fuel to start the first time ,after it warms up its easy to start, because the engines heat inside the motor evaporates the gas faster if it had more gas going into the intake i believe it would fire right up
try this its worth a shot and let me know i have a book that i am looking at right now with troubleshooting suggestions.o.k and let me know i working for you man hang in there.
