Motorcycle Repair: identifying my bike, check ebay, bill silver

the only numbers i was able to get off the bike are: on the motor"CL450E-4116107"  and from a data plate off the frame with the numbers of " ID 333030 COLO " and another of "233031" i have been told it was a 1980 honda.  it has a 444cc motor and lots of custom work has been done to the front end and frame... can u help me identify mayber the bikers original specs,   thanks richard

Richard, the engine is from a 1971 CL450 Scrambler. The last year for a CL450 was 1974.

The frame may be a complete custom unit that was ID tagged by the state of Colorado, in order to have it registered.
The original Honda frame would have numbers similar to the engine numbers, stamped on the right side of the steering head.

Most any shop manual for a 5 speed 450 twin from 1968-74 will give you the information you need for tuning and repair. Check Ebay for manuals and CB/CL450 parts.
