Motorcycle Repair: kawasaki zzr400 front wheel, kawasaki zzr400, zxr400

Question
hi hope i,m asking the right person, my zzr has been stood for a while and when pushing it it feels very stiff at the front wheel,i thought maybe the front brake was binding a little,on riding the front wheel feels very twitchy like its pulling to 1 side it was pretty scary when i came to corner could all this be due to front brake bind or does it sound like something else?the tire looks good,as does the wheel,i,m not to sure if its aligned correctly but theres a definate dragging sound front the front disk when i push the bike and i can feel the resistance hope you can help thanks for your time darran

Answer
Hi Darran,

It's common for brake fluid to change chemically from a fluid into a gel linke substance. Advanced stages of this process results with thegel substance changing into a crystal like substance.

Disassemple the caliper and inspect. Remove the pistons (pucks) and seals. Inspect the lands and grooves between and behind the seals for these brake fluid substances. Clean accordingly and replace seals.
