Motorcycle Repair: drag pipes for 883 Sportster, gurgle, sportster

I'm thinking of adding 2" drags to my sportster, good idea? How much HP will i
add? will i have to have it re-timed? and noise, a deeper gurgle right?

Answer
Adding grag pipes will hurt your power a little in the low end and more in the midrange where you do most of your riding. Drag pipes are made for high RPMS. You would be better off getting a tuned exhaust which will give you a louder sound.
If you change pipes to either you will probably have to rejet the carb.
