Motorcycle Repair: xr 100 no spark, winter project, spark plug

I purchased a 1986 xr 100 as a winter project. No manual as yet. One ordered. In mean time is there anything you would check to start off with. Spark plug is ok. Thanx Brian.

take off side cover take magneto off lightly sand any corrosoin off  the clean statoe too. if still no spark check coil . you should be fine let me know. ok. P.S please leave feedback on my answer o,km /you can also nominate if you choose to o.k.
