Motorcycle Repair: Harley Davidson, fork oil, harley davidson

Question
Mike, I would like to change the oil in my front forks. I have read a lot of questions concerning this job but can you give me step by step instructions so I can get it right. I have a 1999 Soft-tail custom. Thanks First time on your site and I really enjoy reading all the other questions.

Answer
Fist thing you ned to do is jack the bike up. Looking on the side of the forks you will see a screw clost the the bottom of the fork. remove it and the oil will drain. once you have drained both forks put he screws back in.
At the top fo each fork there is a nut. Remove it so you can put the oil in. There is a spring holding against it so it will pop up when its removed. Put in your fork oil and reinstall the nut. Do the same for the other fork and your good to go.
good luck and happy riding
Mike
