Motorcycle Repair: harley pipes, stock pipes, sound thanks

last year i got an 06' softail deluxe...love the bike but it is sooo quiet..i want it louder...
was waiting on pipes from cycle shack/slip ons, but they were taking forever...so the dealer suggested screaming eagle which i had heard were pretty good..
picked up the bike yesterday and i was pretty unhappy with the sound, i could barely tell a difference...it felt to have a little more pick up...they mentioned trimming the baffle back to increase to loudness? what are you thoughts? i know if i touch the baffles i cannot return them...any suggestions?
are the cycleshack pipes strong? what would happen if i took the stock pipes and cut the baffle back? i am looking for that strong, throaty, sound..thanks for your help!

The sound from a exhaust system is an opinion thing. What one person likes another doesnt. You can sut the baffles a little, but its not going to  get much louder and like you said, if you cut htem harley will not take them back.
yes the cycle shack pipes are strong. You can cut the stock ones back, but I dont think you are going to get the sound you are looking for by doing that
