Question
Anthony,
i have a suzuki jr 50 that wont
stay in gear after about 10 feet.
but, i can lift the rear wheel off
the ground and it will stay in gear.
whats up? also how do i go about finding
the year of this bike? it doesnt appear to be as easy to identify byk the serial number on the steering head.
THANKS FOR THE HELP!
YOU ARE APPRECIATED!
Gary
AnswerGary,
Hopefully all the bike needs is new clutch plates... I believe what you're feeling is the clutch slipping. If it is actually 'popping' out of gear or if you replace the clutch plates and this still happens, you will need to inspect the transmission which is a mid-large size task.
Call your local suzuki dealer and give them the serial #, they will tell you the year
good luck.
