I have a 1985 KLR 600, will a 650 motor fit in it?

conversions such as this are always doable... It's not possible for me to tell you definately yes or no, but i've worked on and seen all kinds of conversions, kx500 in cr80 frames, etc..  If you are willing to cut/weld the frame, mounts, etc if necessary yes - it will fit.  It may just bolt on, you may just need to forge an adapter plate for the mounts... can't say.

Start by spec'ing out the distances, motor mount to motor mount, height, carb position etc... usually the hardest part of these is clearing the gas tank, and the carb with the midframe.

Sorry I don't have any specifics for you, but a conversion is not a science - its an art!
