Motorcycle Repair: do i need to rejet, stock pipes, vance and hines straightshots

Question
i have a 2005 sportster 883xl. when i bought the bike i removed the baffles out of the stock pipes. i had it rejetted and a high-flow air kit put on from the dealer. later i purchased vance and hines straightshots and installed them. the bike ran fine. even better actually. i am wanting to remove the baffles and was wondering if i need to have it rejetted again. some shop owners and dealers have told me only if it runs bad and to check the plugs to make sure it is not running to lean. while others say you absolutely have to do it. is it really necessary. i don't want to hurt my bike but i don't want to have to mess with it if it's not really necessary. also while i'm asking. i noticed that my pipes have a different sound to them. my rear pipe does not have near as a distinct sound as my front pipe. is that normal. what causes it. thanks so much for your help! i just bought my bike last year and am new to all of this. but it is definitely my whole life now. thanks again!

Answer
You would have to check the plugs to determine if you need to rejett.
Personnaly I wouldnt remove the baffles. You will lose horsepower in the midrange if you do that. The different sound it pretty normal. Has to do with the length of the pipes
Good luck and happy riding
