Motorcycle Repair: oil change/tranny capacity/88 FXRS, harley dealer, oil tank

Mike,
Got a 88 FXRS and need to change oil and tranny fluid, I see the trans. drain plug and dipstick,any idea how much and what type fluid, also how will I drain my engine oil tank, I see no plug,will it all drain when I drop the filter under the trans? Thanks in advance, John

You should have a drain hose on the bottom of the oil tank. Usually on hte right side under the tank.
On the trans, the drain is under the trans. Use trans fluid made for harley trans. there are many brands out there or you can get fluid from your local harley dealer.
the trans hold a lillte less thena  quart, but check it as you fill it so you dont over fill it. Make sure you check the oil and trans fluid while the bike is sitting upright
