Motorcycle Repair: Blinkers, kawasaki vulcan, signal lamps

I own a 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan VN1500.  Bought some aftermarket turnsignals.  Disconnected the stock ones, hooked up new ones.  Now I have hazards.  Both blink at the same time.  Only three wires each.  Kawasaki's are blue, grey and black (with yellow line on it), aftermarket blinkers are white, red, black.
I've tried every combination I could think of and got no results.  What am I doing wrong?
How can I fix this problem?
