Motorcycle Repair: 1979 Kawazaki KZ400(B2)-Electrical, fuse blows, happy hunting

Question
I have re-finished the above bike.  All of the signals and lights are working.  But as soon as I turn the ignition switch to the "run" position the 20A fuse blows.  I checked the wiring from the battery to the magnetic switch to the regulator and all appears undamaged and attached correctly.  Any information regarding the possible causes and remedies to alleviate this problem would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Ken Fidler

Answer
You have a positive to ground issue somewhere in your primary ignition.  Without seeing the bike I can't really help, and I apologize 4 that.  I can however wish u a happy hunting trip as u need to chase out your entire pri-ig wiring harness to make sure a wire wasn't pinched.  Remember, the neg. side of your batter connects directly 2 the frame, therefore your entire bike is a giant ground.  Any positive touching the neg. will cause your issue.  Oh, what does the 20amp fuse belong to?
