Motorcycle Repair: fork oil amounts, fork oil, speed bumps

Question
I have a 2002 FLHTC I removed 8.5 oz of oil Which looked like motor oil. I bottom out when I go over speed bumps or train tracks any thoughts?

You need to put for oil back in. Your forks have fork oil in them, it is just dirty and thats why it looks black. Without the oil, you are going to bottom out and ruin the forks. If you removed 8.5 ounces then put 8.5 ounces back in
