Motorcycle Repair: 1984 GL1200 Goldwing - Starter motor, wingthings texas, clutch installation

I have heard that the 84 GL1200 starter motor is the same as the GL1100.  Is this true?  I am unable to find an '84 GL1200 starter, but there are plenty around for the '83 1100.

The 84 GL1200 shares few parts with the 1100's and 1000's.
