Motorcycle Repair: 1986 Honda CB900 will not start, honda cb900, vent hose

Question
After sitting for a couple years my unit would not start. Installed new battery, plugs wires & caps, took apart and cleaned carbs, and cleaned screen at fuel port on gas tank adding new gas. New fuel line goes to top manafold to supply fuel to all 4 carbs. There is a small (lower) manafold (black) that a small tube comes out of down by the throttle cable. Where does this small line connect to?

Answer
Hi Tim,

I suspect the part is either a atmospheric vent hose (float bowl vent) or vacuum hose.

Try and find an image of the carbs on eBay and send me the link.

Manifolds are the rubber mounts at the rear of the cylinders in which the carburetors are mounted. Boots are the rubber ducts between the carbs and the stock airbox.
