Motorcycle Repair: clutch cable install, clutch lever, clutch cable

Question
I NEED TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH CABLE ON MY 1983 FXSB SHOVELHEAD. BELIEVE IT OR NOT THIS IS THE FIRST BREAKAGE. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY TIPS ON THE INSTALLATION PROCESS. THANKS KEN


Answer
You first need to remove the old cable. Route the new cable and install the cable adjuster. Pu the end in the trans arm. remove the clutch lever and install the cable. Put he clutch lever back in and adjust the cable so you have about 1/8 inch play in the clutch handle
