Motorcycle Repair: 1986 honda xr80r carburetors settings, honda xr80r, silver screw

Hello...I am wondering what the carburetor settings are because the two screws on the carburetor have been moved and im trying to get my settings back and corrected...one screw is a gold color and the other screw is a silver color...

Hi Joe,

I recommend getting a copy of the Service (Repair) Manual.

I can give you basic "base" settings. You'll have to test and tune to dial in the carb's air-fuel mixtures. it's not an easy task for the inexperienced.

You can try setting the brass screw at two turns out from a lightly seated position. (I stress the term lightly seated to avoid damaging the needle).

Set the silver screw 1 - 2 turns out.

With engine running adjust the one screw at a time in 1/4 turn incriments. Make one adjustment at a time to know the effects that individual adjustments makes.
