Motorcycle Repair: 1980 CM400T no spark, accurate readings, meter readings

Question
Hi,

My motorcycle was running good one day and wouldn't start the next.  It was pretty hot when I shut it down (CDI cooked?).

There is no spark.  The resistance of the secondary of the coil seems a bit high, in the 20k range, but I didn't use a very precise meter.  I can borrow a better one if needed.

Is there any additional testing I can do?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Lindy,

You'll need to compare your meter readings with service manual specs. I don't the service manual for this model.

A better meter will yield more accurate readings.

I can send you tech files that may assist you.
