Motorcycle Repair: Lowering my Suzuki, suzuki gs, mail order

Question
I have a 1980 Suzuki GS 550L, I need to lower the bike by about 2 inches so that I can ride comfortably with my feet flat, my mechanic suggested that I just get shorter shocks.  Nothing on the bike has been modified, can you suggest the size and which shocks would be best?
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Mikki,

Search the net for lowering block kits. They can lower the rear to accomodate most needs.

See a few kits listed at the links below. There are several kit brands out there. Shop around for the best prices and applications. Call Chapperal, Competittion Accessories, or other mail-order parts delaers and ask sales persons to check their catalogs for what's available for your MC.
