Motorcycle Repair: 78 CB750k flasher issue, honda factory, cb750k

I just bought a 78 CB750K.  When you turn the turn signals on the indicator lets out a horrible screaching sound.  I found that the flasher was missing so I tried to fix with 12V automotive 2 prong flasher.  It didn't work.  Any ideas?  I need help.  Thanks, Randy

Randy, the noise is the Honda factory turn signal beeper. It was designed to make a little noise so you wouldn't forget to turn off the turn signals. Kind of a crude way to go about it and most people just disconnected them. Wires are probably inside the headlight shell. Unit is mounted on the fork ear, next to the instruments.
