Motorcycle Repair: rockerboxes leaking, springer softail, rocker boxes

Question
ive got a 99 springer softail.my rocker boxes are leaking a small amount of oil and i want to change the gaskets myself. i ordered the gaskets. ive never done this before,i see that im going to have to take my tank off, is this something i can do without taking my motor out, and when i do install them how tight should i tighten the screws, and is there anything else i should know to do the job. thanks tim.

Answer
You should be abl to do it without problem. The motor does not have to be removed. You can get hem off while the motor is installed.
Just tighten the bolts tight and you will be fine. Make sure you dont pinch the gaskets when you install them
Good luck and happy riding
