Motorcycle Repair: 1976 Harley Sportster 1000 Front exhaust pipe turning colors, exhaust pipes, lean condition

I recently changed out my exhaust pipes and on the new front pipe it has turned blue and this happened with the bike only running for five minutes. I did a compression test the front read 130psi and the rear 125psi also the rear pipe is fine looks as if I just took it out of the package.

Most pipes turn a little blue from the heat. If the pipes you got at thin wall they will turn blue faster. Most pipes have covers for this very reason.
One thing that will cause them to turn blue fast is a lean condition. Lean means more heat. Go for a ride and pull your plugs and let me know the color of them
