Motorcycle Repair: 1996 flhtci throttle adjustment, rinehart true dual exhaust, throttle cable

Question
Hi,Mike.I have a 1996 electra glide classic fuel injection with a doherty machine air cleaner unit and a rinehart true dual exhaust.I installed the air cleaner unit last year together with the pipes and everything was running perfect. This year I developed a bad problem. It seems it is leaking something (gas I imagined)under the air filter. It is not actually leaking but it is escaping in some form that collects and drips on the bike when I ride.I need to make sure my throttle cable is adjusted right. How do you adjust the throttle cable(s) on a 1996 flhtci?I have the service manual but it describes the procedure for a carburated engine. Can I adjust the cables or do I need to have a SCANALYZER?Thanks for time, DOUCAS.

Answer
You adjust your cables the same as carb bike. Locate the adjuster on the cable by the throttle.
Check your air filter for the drip. Your bike has a breather which goes into the filter. Clean the filter and you should be ok
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
