Motorcycle Repair: 2006 Kawasaki Meanstreak, kawasaki mean streak, brand new bike

Question
I have just purachased a 2006 Kawasaki Mean Streak. At 50 miles I noticed an oil leak coming from what seems to be a round rubber plug at the top of the cylinder above the spark plug. It seems this plug was not inserted right and is half in half out. The othe cylinders plug is flush. What is the purpose of this plug? Is this something I should be concerned about being this is a brand new bike, or is it something the dealer can easily fix? It seems to me that the entire motor would have to be removed to reaseat this plug. Could you please advise? Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Garry,

That's a awesome motorcycle. Sorry to hear about the problem.

That fix is covered by warranty. Get in touch with the service manager of your service department.

To view parts microfiche visit "www.buykawasaki.com"  Click "Owner Information" from the top menu and then click "Parts Diagrams" from the drop down menu that follows. Select the year, make, and model, etc... from the menus that follows.

I think you're referring to Kawasaki p/n: 92066 from the "Cylinder Head" microfiche. These are cylinder head bolt seals and may leak if not properly installed or defective.
