Answer
Hi David,

Q:  "...I have a honda cbr1000f hurricaine 1991. the battery went dead. the battery cables wont get a connection to a battery, or jumpstart. the lights wont come on  and no turnover at all what could be the cause..."

A:  It's difficult to diagnose the problem(s) from the limited information provided.

Batteries become defective from a weak or defective charging system, with time and use, from improper care, from weather, from defective electrical connectors and conductors, and other causes less likely.

Measure battery voltage using a multimeter.

Measure specific gravity of each battery cell to determine the condition of the battery.

Perform an output test of the charging system.

Check charging system components for proper operation.

I recommend that you get a copy of the service manual and follow electrical troubleshooting information.

Visit www.electrosport.com and follow their Fault Finding Chart.
