Motorcycle Repair: Virago 750 1995, clymers, best bet

Good day, I just bought a 1995 Virago 750 it's VIN is JYA4PWSO7SA014175, just in case. At the moment it is backfiring and when you accelerate it it tends to stall for a moment and then it start going strong again, makes no difference of the shift or speed I'm going, for example when changinf shift you lower on the gas and when trying to go back it does it.

Again I just bought the bike and I don't know much of it.

Finally some of you are very bussy, I like your site but wonder if there are any other you may recommend and also what manual should I buy.

Johnny, sounds to be a carb issue and it has sat for a while. the slow main or idle jets are partially plugged. i would get the carbs cleaned and set correctly. i dont know of any other sites sorry. and for a manual try ebay for a factory service manual would be the best bet, clymers are ok too.
