Motorcycle Repair: Noisy front cylinder, 20w50 motor oil, harleys

Question
I bought a 1987 harley 1100 and somebody told me that the evo motors are all noisy... Is this true? And if there is anything you can tell me about the bike as in whats the best oil/gas

I dont think the motors are that noisy, but thats my opinion. They will have a little top end noise from the lifters and rockers, but Harleys are known for that.
You can run regulator gas in the bike, unless it pings on acceleration and they you need to go to high test. As to the oil, you can use any 20w50 motor oil as long as it meets SAE specs. It will say it on the bottle. You can also go synthic if you want to spend the money
