Motorcycle Repair: [Honda CB 125 K5 1973] Tachometer wire, honda cb 125, bill silver

Question
Hi,
I have stumbled upon a Honda CB 125 K5. The tachometer wire was completly removed from it's coil however and I am looking for a replacement. The local places where I am able to order from do not seem to keep them in stock.

I wonder if the same wires where used on some other bikes aswell.

The ones I can easily get is listed for the following models:

Alt1 17:
CB125T(79)

Alt2 02:
CB125TD(82)

Alt3 06:
CB350(73),CB400F(75-77), CB750 K1-K6(72-76)

Alt4 07:
CB550F(75-76), CB750 K7(70-77)

Any help is appreciated.

Answer
Daniel, based on the year of the bike you show, the bike's parts should be related to the CB/CL175 of that era. Check with www.westernhillshonda.com  or www.davidsilverspares.com or www.cmsnl.com for parts and information. Those 125cc models were not sold in the US, but there were plenty of CB/CL/SL175s sold here. There are cases where tachometer cables are interchanged from various other models. Be sure to have the length of the cable housing available when shopping.

FYI... If the inner cable broke, the tachometer's inside mechanism may be seized. If so, the cable will break again.
