Motorcycle Repair: clutch, worst case scenario, clutch basket

Question
2005 gsxr 1000. Ive been having trouble with the clutch grinding and slipping a little bit on take offs above 3000 rpm. Ive been told drilling three holes in the clutch basket gets rid of this problem. there is already spots on the basket where to drill the holes, why they didnt put them there I dont know. How do you remove the clutch basket the proper way?

Answer
Jay, drilling those three holes will not get rid of power take off chatter. in worst case scenario the basket will explode under the right conditions. If you really want to get rid of this chatter under power take off's a new basket is in order. send me your email and i will send the tech files
