Motorcycle Repair: 2002 FLHRCI, crossover pipe, big bore kit

Question
Mike,
I have been thinking of going to true dual exhaust on my 2002 Road King.  I have a 95 big bore kit on my bike and have read a lot of conflicting claims about Rineharts, Vance and Hines, etc.  Also have heard that true duals (eliminating the crossover) will degrade performance.  What's the truth?  Are there any true dual setups that really improve performance?
Thanks for the help!
Clem

Answer
There are several companies out there that make true duels. All true duels are is there is no crossover pipe. With the duels you get a better exhaust flow, so the answer your question, no it doesn not hurt performance. the only thing that will hurt performance is putting on drags and not getting your EMC reflashed.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
