Motorcycle Repair: Yamaha R6 dying, jumpers, tach

I laid down my 2001 Yamaha R6 at about 30 mph about 2 days ago,..i had LED lights hooked up to it,..recently my bike would die while riding,..so we jumped started the bike and it would run until we took the jumpers off,..so i bouoght a new battery,..it ran perfect but then i got to were we where going and my gauges quit and so did my RPM's (tach) and the bike slowly died like it did previously,..i let it sit for about two minutes wiggles some wires and the bike started right back up what is wrong?! i also disconnected my lights and threw them away beeofre i put in the new battery

Hi Tyler.

This sounds like the wreck dis some damage to the wiring.  You may want to check the entire ignition system for shorts and damaged components.  Remember that not all damage is visible.  You could have a short or a component that needs replacing.

Start with that and let me know what you find.
