Motorcycle Repair: idle on my bike, harley shop, octaine

Question
Hey Mike, well I did take it back to them yesterday and they adjusted the idle a little bit.  It now runs good hot, but still takes longer to stay started?  The dealership did say that if I wanted to pay "again" to have my bike rejetted I could.  That in my opinion should be the dealer's problem, especially since I had it done about 1 year ago with them.  And I agree about the gas thing! Thanks Mike.

Question -
Hey Mike, I own a 1998 HD Fatboy FLSTF 1340cc, I took it in last week to the Harley shop for a gasket replacement which had a small leak.  Any ways when I picked up my bike they said it was on reserve and needed gas asap.  So I did have a problem keeping it started but managed to get to the gas station.  Filled up with 93 Octaine like I normally do and rode home.  I noticed that the idle was a lot slower, but was running.  My question is it now takes longer for my bike to stay started and does not "reve" up as high as it used to.  Do you think the dealership might have forgotten to do something?  My bike is still under warranty until June 10th?  Any suggestions?

Answer -
i would return the bike back to the dealer and tell them the problem. Without knowing what work they did it would be hard for me to say, but it sounds like somthing is wrong. On a personnal note, I think it sucks that they would not give you any gas and let you take a chance on running out.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike

Answer
I dont think I would use that dealer anymore! Once a bike is jetted, and you dont make any changes, it is not going to need rejetted. Since your bike is still under warrenty I would take it to another dealership and see what they say.
Good luck and happy riding
