Motorcycle Repair: adjusting solid lifters, welcome thanx, pushrod

HeyMike,
a couple of people tried to tell me how to adjust my solid lifters on my 1976 shovel,
when the bike gets hot and I stop to put gas in it when I start it up again I notice a loss in compresion,
I adjusted the hydro's on my sportster with no problem, any info would be welcome THANX Bob

Lets say you start with the front exhaust. Rotate the rear wheel until the lifter is all the way at the bottom. Now adjust the pushrod just until it still turns between your fingers. Do this to each one. make sure you do ti when the motor is cold.
