Motorcycle Repair: 1987 Harley Softail clutch, clutch lever, harley softail

Hi Mike,    I have a 1987 Harley Softail that I need to replace the clutch cable on. Can you tell me how to do it?    Thanks so much,   Patti

Drain the trans. Remove the right cover from the trans. Inside you will see the cable.Remove it from the inner ramp. You ahve to rotate it and the inner ramp will come out. unscrew the cable and also remove it from the clutch lever. Install the new cable in reverse. After you get it installed you need to adjust the cable so you have about 1/8 inch play in the clutch lever.
