HELLO BILL: I JUST LEARNING TO WRITE IN ENGLISH SO I HOPE I DON'T MAKE A LOT OF MISTAKES!
I JUST BOUGTH A USED YX 600 RADIAN YAMAHA, THE GUY HOW SOLD THIS TO ME SAID THAT THE PET COCK  HAS TO BE REPLACE,BECAUSE IT WAS BROKEN OK...I DID IT AND IT HAS 3 POSITION ::::UP,DOWN .AND MIDLE ...WHEN THE MOTORCYCLE WAS OFF I TOOKED THE GAS HOSE OUT OF THE TANK WITH THE POSITION IN THE MIDLE AND THE GAS COME OUT I THINK IT SHOULD BE THE RES POSITION? THEN I I PUT THE UP POSITION I THINK IS ON? AND IS NO GAS... WHY IF THIS IS  THE POSITION "ON" THERE IS NO GAS COMING OUT? SO WHERE THE POSITION SHUOLD BE THANKS FOR YOU HELP I'M SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH    AGUSTIN(AUGIE) FROM VENEZUELA..BUT I LIVE IN VENICE ,FLORIDA  THANKS

Agustin.... your English is doing pretty well, I think. I am not a Yamaha expert, but generally petcocks use Down for ON, Middle for OFF and UP for Reserve.

Take a piece of hose and put it on the fuel line fitting. Plug the spare line and then blow through the hose, to see where the air comes out. The petcock passage for ON may be plugged. Try to put some small wires or drill bits down the passages as far as you can to clear out any obstructions.
