Motorcycle Repair: Honda Goldwing shifting problem, routine maintainence, honda goldwing

1993 GL1500 Honda Goldwing.  19500 miles
Suddenly became difficult / impossible to shift up.  Seems to work good when bike cold but as soon as it warms up I can only shift 1st. to 2nd.  Unable to shift any higher.  Came on suddenly with absolutly warning.

Hi Darald.

This sounds a lot like a deep engine problem with the transmission.  What I don't understand is why it only happens when the engine is warmed up.

Is the bike within parameters for it's routine maintainence schedule?

Have you checked the clutch to make sure that it has been bled properly?  A clutch line that is in need of flushing and/or bleeding could cause a problem like that.  Try changing the clutch fluid and bleeding the system.  See if that fixes the problem.

If it doesn't, then get the bike in to the shop for repair.
