Motorcycle Repair: improving the performance of my XR400R, bran new, piston kit

How ya goin, i just recently bought a bran-new 2004 Honda XR400R fresh off the show room floor, it isnt realy keeping up with my expectations is there any way to get that extra power out of my moter.

Hi Dave,

That depends upon your expectations.

Performance modifications such as a competition exhaust, aftermarket air filter, and carburetor tuning are the most common mods performed.

You can have a piston kit and a big bore cylinder installed. Other machine work can be performed to the engine to increase performance.

A tunable aftermarket ignition may be available.
