Motorcycle Repair: 99 Hayabusa how do I change the clutch master cylinder fluid?, clutch slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder

Question
Hi Chris!

When I pull the clutch while riding it squeaks.  Looking in the resivoir window is black, unlike the brake resivoir which shows clear fluid.

How do I replace/check/ repair?

Also bike surges at high throttle in higher rpm's.  Like all power then no power then all power again.  No getting close to over rev. just normal riding but on the gas.  Almost like shutting down and turning on again, in repitition.

Thanks for your help!

Dealer Serviced for surging but never fixed

Answer
Hi Jeff.

 As far as the dealer servicing of the surging problem; What did they tell you about it, since they didn't fix it?
 It could be an issue with the fuel system.

As far as the fluid in the clutch line, here's what you need to do;

1) Place a drain pan under the clutch slave cylinder assembly.

2) Remove the clutch slave cylinder and drain the fluid out of it.

2) Disconnect the clutch line at the master cylinder and place a small container at the opening of the master cylinder and slowly apply pressure to the clutch lever till no more fluid comes out.

5) Reconnect everything and put fresh fluid into the system.

6) Bleed the system and you should have no more problem.

Good luck and ride safe.
