Motorcycle Repair: my 1976 cb550, 1976 honda cb550, bench test

Hi Chris

  I have a 1976 honda cb550 four k series.
i bought the bike off of an older gentleman who when last rode the bike lade it over at a stop sign. which scared him and he let it sit for fifteen years in a garage it has a few problems.
i got most of them worked out but im having trouble with the bike firing on all cylinders.
its firing on the second and fourth cylnders could you tell me possible causes for this because this is the only problem i havent worked out yet, well besides finding parts for the bike that has been a chore to

Hi Jason.

 Start by checking the ignition circuit wiring.  You could have a short there.
 You could also have a bad coil.

 Do a bench test of the offending coil as well as a running test of the coil as per the proceedures and specs in the repair manual.
