Motorcycle Repair: Cylinder not firing, suzuki bandit 600, 2000 suzuki bandit 600

My son just bought a 2000 Suzuki Bandit 600.  When running we noticed the right exhaust pipe was cold.  While the plugs look old we did swap plugs with the left cylinder and got no change, right cylinder still cold.  So plugs must be firing.  We are novices at this motorcycle thang so be gentle.  What could be the problem?

Hi Randy,

The problem may be a defective ignition unit, poor electrical connection, defective spark plug lead, defective ignition coil or pick-up coil, or other.

Get a copy of the service manual and try performing electrical diagnosis. Otherwise, have a local tech inspect the problem for you.
