Motorcycle Repair: engine, oil light, xj600

Question
i have a yahama xj600 diversion n reg 1996,on the way home from work the oil light came on and stayed on(did not flicker),i have changed the oil including a flush thinking i may have a blockage causing increased oil pressure.But every time i try to start the bike the oil light comes on but the bike will not turn over.the  engine has not ceased as i can turn it over by hand.

Hi Mark,

When the ignition is in the on position and you press the starter button, do you hear any sounds?

Is the battery fully charged and in good condition?

Are the battery leads clean and tightly connected at all ends?

Do you have a copy of the service manual?

Do you have an email address as requested?
