i have a 91 bandit 400 and am experiencing huge fuel usage and problems with idling. starts easily , but once warm it wants to either run too high or low and i can'tget it under control with the idle screw. choke must be manually pushed off, as lever on bar will only pull it on. clean filter,tight air boots, premium gas.please offer any advice as $100/hr dealer is painful.  THANK YOU

A:  I have an idea of the symptoms. Can you provide any details of the history of this MC? Was it stored during winter, or for other reasons. Any modifications? Aftermarket parts? When was last tune-up performed by dealer? What has been done to correct the problems?
