Motorcycle Repair: Suzuki 750 Intruder, don macleod, suzuki 750

Hi:
Problem with gas leaking into crankcase.  When bike is left for a long period of time gas is leaking into crankcase .  Petcock is in "off" position.  What should I look for?  Suzuki 750 intruder.  Petcock was replaced with one from a harley tank could this be some of the problem?

Usually I only answer questions on Harleys, but I might be able to help. the only place you could be getting gas into the crankcase is from the gas tank. Your petcock is probably leaking by, plus your float might be stuck in the carb.
