Motorcycle Repair: fork oil service 1998 fl, phillips head, fork oil

Mike,  How do you change fork oil on a flht police model with the oil entry spot in the left handle grip.  Do you measure and pump the oil in?  Does it have a drain plug on the lower end of both forks.   Thanks!

That oil entry spot in the left handle grip is for air only. Do not put the oil through there. There is a drain plug at the bottom of each fork. It should be a phillips head screw. it is on the outside of each fork. Once you have th eoil drained you have to use a vaccumn pump to suck the oil in. You can hook the pump to the air petcock that you were talking about.
