Motorcycle Repair: CB160 Clutch question follow-up, clutch pack, clutch assembly

Question
Hi, your answer was very helpful. I took apart the clutch assembly (had to pry the plates apart!) I got new fiber plates and polished the metal ones with a grind stone, they are flat with minimal glazing. That was part of the problem, however I figured out that the clutch lifter mechanism isn't working right. When I pull the cable it doesn't turn like it should, therefore it doesn't push the rod and disengage the clutch. I have seen the adjuster part on Ebay but it is only the clutch adjuster part, not the lifter, so I assume they come apart somehow. I can't seem to get the adjuster/lifter apart to see what s going on inside. Do you know of a way I can find the part numbers, to know exactly what I am looking for? Thanks!

Answer
Joseph, Glad to hear you are making progress on the repairs. The part numbers for the thread are probably 22810-216-010, 030 or 040, depending on your serial numbers of the engine.
and the adjuster is 22841-216-000 or 030 according to an old pricing book. Check with www.westernhillshonda.com for parts and specific information. Be sure to have your engine and frame serial numbers handy when you contact them.
The two parts screw together with very coarse threads. In order to separate them, release the locking bolt from assembly in the case and push it all through the case recess.
The thread lifter can get worn at the return spring area and where the cable attaches. The threaded section is steel so tends to wear less than the adjuster that is made of a kind of soft pot-metal. In most cases replacing the adjuster will restore function. When the thread interface wears excessively, pulling the lever/cable just moves the two pieces apart internally, but offers little rotation to actually put some lateral motion on the pushrod to push the clutch pack apart.
